Yesterday was the first day of spring, however, it appeared to be the debut of winter: Arctic wind and miserable rain performing their intricate drenching choreography.
Of course, I have been reflecting on other, more important things. One of these is the common elements between the spring equinox and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. They both occur around the same time of the year. Also, they share similar concepts, e.g., rebirth and regeneration. They are a celebration of the transition from death to life.
Then I am force to reflect on the similarities between Christmas and the winter solstice.
Then again, it’s all historical fluff. Reason has no role in Faith, unless it is to confirm that which is already believed:
For I do not seek to understand in order that I might believe, but I believe so I may understand. For I believe even this: that ‘I shall not understand unless I believe’.
